The Texas Kidney Foundation (TKF) is on a mission to support and educate the 37 million Americans that are at high-risk or diagnosed with chronic kidney disease by providing free early detection screenings and other statewide services. In 2013, TKF began the Texas Kidney Check program offering free wellness checks. These multi-faceted tests examine hypertension, diabetes and creatine in about 15 minutes.

In connection with the Texas Kidney Check program, TKF has 10,000 FREE early detection screenings to help uncover early-stage kidney disease to give to those in the San Antonio and South Texas area. In 2018, early detection screenings identified 2 or more indicators of chronic kidney disease in 56% of 4,577 participants in 159 screening events across 42 counties in Texas.

During this holiday season, as we gather with loved ones and friends, you or someone you know may be 1 in 7 adults affected by kidney disease. Please help support the team of Kidney Crusaders at the Texas Kidney Foundation get the word out to the many Texans who would benefit from this free potentially life-saving screening.
